Circling Raven: Golf in Worley, Idaho

The Coeur d'Alene Casino Resort Hotel, the property Circling Raven Golf Club belongs to, gives its address as 37914 South Nukwalqw, Worley, Idaho 83876; that is the resort's own address, and no source establishes a separate street address for the golf club itself. Idaho State Highway 58, a 2.943-mile state route entirely within the Coeur d'Alene Reservation, begins at the Washington state line east of Rockford, at its junction with State Route 278; its eastern continuation, South Nukwalqw Street, serves the Coeur d'Alene Casino and Circling Raven Golf Club near Worley. Spokane International Airport is about 45 miles northwest by road. Separately, Wikipedia places the resort complex about 30 miles south of the city of Coeur d'Alene, and the club's own site puts Worley itself 25 miles from Coeur d'Alene — two different measurements, resort-to-city and town-to-city, not the same trip.

Circling Raven Golf Club is owned and operated by the Coeur d'Alene Tribe, a sovereign nation. Its own site states, "The golf course was designed by Gene Bates to both challenge and entertain golfers"; Wikipedia dates the opening to the summer of 2003, matching the year in Golf Digest's own ranking data. The course, per the operator's site, "sprawls out over a majestic 620 acres." It has hosted several tournaments: an international competition and cultural exchange with a team from Royal Dornoch Golf Club, Scotland, in September 2005; the Pacific Northwest PGA Professional Championship in August 2006, won by Ryan Malby; and the same championship's return in 2012, won by Ryan Benzel. Circling Raven also hosted the Circling Raven Championship on the LPGA's developmental Epson Tour from 2021 to 2023 — the 2020 inaugural edition was cancelled because of the COVID-19 pandemic. Peiyun Chien won in 2021 and Jillian Hollis in 2022, both for a $200,000 purse; Ren Yue won the final edition in 2023, when the purse was $225,000. The event is no longer held.

Circling Raven Golf Club is public-access: Golf Digest labels it "Public" in its 2025-'26 Idaho ranking, and the club's own site takes tee times from anyone, online or by phone on 1-800-523-2464, with no membership or hotel-stay requirement stated. Groups larger than 12 book through the golf club directly on 1-208-686-8823. In peak season, 18 May to 13 September, phone bookings are capped at 45 days ahead; online booking runs beyond that 45-day window. The cap does not apply to Coeur d'Alene Tribal Members. Cancellations or reductions must be made at least 48 hours in advance. Golf attire is required — no jeans, tee shirts, or men's tank tops — and all players must use the course's GPS-equipped golf carts, included with the rate; no private power or push carts are allowed.

For the 2026 season, Circling Raven's peak-season rates (18 May through 4 October) are $199 for 18 holes Monday through Wednesday, $229 Thursday through Sunday, and $135 for 9 holes daily; shoulder-season rates (opening day through 17 May, and 5 October through end of season) are $149 Monday through Wednesday, $169 Thursday through Sunday, and $99 for 9 holes daily. Rates include the cart and practice facility. A rider fee is $30, a practice-facility day pass is $30, and a premium rental set is $75, first come first served. Raven Card holders get $40 off the regular rate; the 2026 Raven Card itself costs $599 and includes one free round Monday through Thursday, $40 off green fees, an all-you-can-play "Raven Hour" starting three hours before sunset for $75, and season access to the practice facility — no booking priority is stated. Staying on-property buys a price bundle, not a tee-time advantage: 2026 Stay & Play packages start at $547 in peak season and $435 in shoulder season, based on double occupancy and subject to change; nothing published on the operator's site gives resort guests priority tee times, a guaranteed tee time, or an earlier booking window than anyone else calling or booking online. The 2026 season opens April 3rd; the rate card's shoulder season runs "October 5th – End of Season" without publishing a closing date. The course is scheduled to close for aerification from September 14 to 16, 2026.

Circling Raven is the golf amenity of the Coeur d'Alene Casino Resort Hotel. The resort's own site names its lodging in two towers — the Mountain Lodge (VIP Suite, Standard Queen Room, King Plus Room, Executive Suite, Queen Plus Room, Standard King Room, Presidential Suite) and the Spa Tower (Spa Suite, Deluxe Room, Chief Suite, Deluxe Suite, Junior Suite, Sunrise Suite, Deluxe Double) — and ten dining rooms, among them Chinook Steak, Seafood & Pasta, Red Tail Bar Grill, Jackpot Java Coffee, and Twisted Earth Grill, which the resort's site places inside the Circling Raven Pro Shop and describes as open daily during golf season from late spring to early fall. What the sources establish is that these rooms and venues exist and what they are called; none of them says whether any given one is serving this week, so this guide does not say so either.

The second course for day two is Avondale Golf Club, in Hayden, Kootenai County. The club's own site states, "A membership golf club that is open to the public," with a "Book a Tee Time" link to its online booking system; no member-only restriction appears on its homepage.
