Landmand: Golf in Homer, Nebraska

Landmand's mailing address is 2073 S. Bluff Rd., Homer, NE 68030. By road, Sioux City, Iowa is 14.3 miles from the course, and Sioux Gateway Airport (SUX) — also known as Brigadier General Bud Day Field, in Woodbury County, Iowa — is 16.8 miles away, both routes running by way of US 75/US 77. From Sioux City, the route runs south on US 75/US 77, then west on county roads — 210th Street, H Avenue and 212th Street — to South Bluff Road. Golf Digest's own review describes the course as being "about 10 miles from Sioux City, Iowa"; the routed distance to the city's downtown is 14.3 miles.

Landmand's own FAQ states plainly, under "Do you offer memberships?": "We do not currently offer memberships." Tee times for the 2026 season run through ForeUp, and the 2027 season through Whoosh; a waitlist is also posted on the club's own site. Every tee time carries a $25 nonrefundable deposit per golfer: cancel more than a week out and the rest of the payment comes back, minus that $25; cancel inside a week and there is no refund at all. The club caps groups at two carts, does not allow fivesomes, and does not allow additional walkers added to a foursome; brokering or reselling a tee time through a third party is against club policy and can cost a golfer the reservation. On a wet morning the club offers push carts at no charge or a full refund, a call made the morning of play rather than before it. The 2026 Landmand golf season, per the club's FAQ: "The 2026 Landmand golf season opens on May 16th, 2026 & ends on October 1st, 2026." A round costs $160 per golfer with cart included, per the same FAQ page under its 2026 season heading; walking the round earns a first beer on the house, and the club does not offer a replay rate.

Rob Collins and Tad King designed Landmand. Golf Digest's review states that "the only way for architects Rob Collins and Tad King to make the golf look like it fit against the endless backdrops was to construct fairways 80 to 100 yards wide and greens that are, cumulatively and in some cases individually, the largest in the United States." Collins has described the site in his own words, on the club's homepage: "When we got up in the hills up there, it was really quite jaw-dropping. It's got a little bit of the Sand Hills look to it, it looks like a links course in Ireland or the Sandhills, it's just this very raw, natural, tumbling landscape." Golf Digest's 2025-'26 Best in State ranking for Nebraska places Landmand third, labelled "Public," with a previous rank also of third — the highest-ranked course on that list to carry the "Public" label, above #2 CapRock Ranch (Valentine) and #1 Sand Hills Golf Club (Mullen), both Private.

Landmand books cabins on site, direct, through its own Lodgify page, at $800 a night; cabin bookings do not include tee times. A cabin reservation carries a $60 nonrefundable deposit, with 90% of the remaining prepayment refundable at 21 days or more before arrival, 50% at 14 days, and none inside 14 days. Check-in is at 3:00 p.m., with the cabin's door code sent out at 2:00 p.m. that day. The club's own Farmer's Table food truck, on site, runs 7:15 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. per the FAQ, which adds that closing hours may change toward the end of the season. Off the course, the club's FAQ names the South Sioux City Marriott Riverfront — 385 East 4th Street, South Sioux City, NE 68776 — as offering golfers a discounted rate through a link on Landmand's own site. The hotel's live website currently returns an access error to automated requests, so this guide names the property and its address without claiming it is presently open for bookings or that the discount is currently honored.
