Bartlett Roundhouse

The Bartlett Roundhouse (also known as the Bartlett Engine House) was built in 1887-88 by the Portland and Ogdensburg Railway as a service point for extra steam locomotives needed to power trains up the steep grades of Crawford Notch, according to its Wikipedia entry, which cites New Hampshire state historical records. The roundhouse was taken out of service after regular passenger service on the line ended in 1958, and was later used by the state as a sand and storage shed until the 1980s. The site was added to the New Hampshire State Register of Historic Places on July 28, 2008, and to the National Register of Historic Places on September 29, 2015, per the same source.
