The chain's Wikipedia article lists eight locations and this is not among them, so the two sources disagree on the chain's footprint; no source reached gives the year this branch opened, or its menu or hours.
History
The chain's history belongs to its original Madison Street tavern rather than to this address. William "Billy Goat" Sianis bought the Lincoln Tavern at 1855 W. Madison St. in 1934, and in 1964 that tavern moved to 430 N. Michigan Ave., which is actually below Michigan Avenue. Sianis brought his pet goat to Game 4 of the 1945 World Series at Wrigley Field against the Detroit Tigers. The "cheezborger" order was originally popularized by John Belushi in the Saturday Night Live "Olympia Cafe" sketch, which was inspired by the tavern.
