History
The Grade II* listing was made on 17 December 1971 as list entry 1080963 and amended on 3 April 2012. Samuel Sanders Teulon designed the permanent church, built as St Mark's, Silvertown, and also called St Mark's, Victoria Docks; it opened in 1862. Brick Lane Music Hall began in a former brewery building in Brick Lane in 1992, moved to Shoreditch and converted this building in 2003. The conversion kept the church exterior and inserted a stage, bar, kitchen and lighting and sound equipment. The war memorial at the former St Mark's Church is separately listed Grade II, NHLE 1406974.
