History
Per its own website, the society describes its museum as offering visitors a way to "experience 250 years of history through permanent exhibitions, and outstanding collections," operating under the motto "Because History Matters," headquartered in an 1869 Methodist Church on Main Street. It also stewards Narramissic, the Peabody-Fitch Farm, an 1797 farmhouse bequeathed to the Society in 1986.
