Ditmas Park Historic District
Historic site · Ditmas Park, New York
A district of roughly 2,000 to 2,500 freestanding houses built between 1902 and 1914, mostly Colonial Revival with Bungalow, Craftsman, Queen Anne and Tudor examples. The houses are private residences; the visit is walking the streets.
History
Designated a New York City landmark on July 28, 1981 and listed on the National Register of Historic Places on September 30, 1983. The land had been Ditmas family farmland, and Lewis H. Pounds was an early developer.
