Dr Johnson's House is a house museum at 17 Gough Square, reached through a network of narrow courts off Fleet Street and easy to walk past. It opens Tuesday to Saturday 10am to 5pm, with last entry at 4.30pm, and Sunday 12pm to 4pm, with last entry at 3.30pm, and closes on Mondays. Admission is £10.00 for an adult, £9.00 for students with valid student ID and £5 for ages 5 to 16, with under-fives free. The operator runs a Friday Afternoon Special from 2pm to 5pm at £5 for adults.

Samuel Johnson compiled his Dictionary of the English Language in the garret of this house. It is listed Grade I, NHLE 1192738, on 4 January 1950, under the entry name 'DR JOHNSONS HOUSE'.
