Hawksmoor's Spitalfields steak restaurant at 157a Commercial Street was the first of the group's rooms to open, and the operator still calls it the one that most embodies the house spirit. The Michelin Guide's 2023 entry describes it as all about British beef, hand-butchered and hung for 35 days, according to the guide.
