Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum

A museum at 25 Evans Way, in the Fenway neighborhood. It was built between 1898 and 1901 by Isabella Stewart Gardner on land she purchased in the Fenway, modeled on a 15th-century Venetian palace, and opened to the public on January 1, 1903. A modern wing designed by Renzo Piano opened in 2012. The collection comprises over 7,500 items — paintings, sculpture, tapestries and decorative arts — spanning ancient Rome through the 19th century.
