Jackson Heights Historic District

A New York City historic district designated by the Landmarks Preservation Commission on October 19, 1993, in report LP-1831. Its boundary is a metes-and-bounds line drawn lot by lot along curblines, running east from 78th Street and 34th Avenue as far as 88th Street and south to Roosevelt Avenue.

History

Unlike the State and National Districts, the local designation comes with aesthetic protections. The State and National Register districts range more widely, from 93rd Street through 69th Street between Northern Boulevard and Roosevelt Avenue.
