History

The Jeffersonville Historic District, encompassing buildings across about 63 acres along Church, Main, Maple, and School Streets plus Carlton Avenue, VT Route 108, and Brewster Avenue, was listed on the National Register of Historic Places on April 10, 1987 (reference number 86002929), according to Wikipedia's "Jeffersonville Historic District" article. Jeffersonville, the largest settlement in the town of Cambridge, was first settled by John Brewster in the 1780s and incorporated as a village in 1827; the Brewster River powered its 19th-century industrial development.
