History
Per Wikipedia's "Jewett-Eastman House" article, the house was built around 1850 in Greek Revival style and was the childhood home of Sarah Orne Jewett; it now serves "as a gallery space and as the visitors center for the adjacent Sarah Orne Jewett House," under Historic New England's stewardship.
