Keats House

It was built in about 1815–16 as a semi-detached pair designed to look like one house, then known as Wentworth Place, and was later converted into a single house museum (NHLE 1379221). It was built for the antiquary and critic Charles Wentworth Dilke and the writer Charles Armitage Brown, and altered about 1839 and again in the late twentieth century. It is stuccoed, with a slated hipped roof, projecting eaves and tall chimney-stacks on both returns; two storeys and a basement, double-fronted with three windows, plus a single-storey two-window extension at the east end added about 1839–40. The neighbouring Keats Community Library is Grade II listed, NHLE 1430883, and Nos 1, 2, 3, 4 and 12 Keats Grove are each Grade II listed in their own right. Hampstead Heath is in Camden at this point.
