Morris Park World War Memorial

A war memorial at Atlantic Avenue and Lefferts Boulevard, recorded by NYC Parks as a stele with two tablets, in bronze and Deer Island granite, by the architect H. Adler. Parks records it as dedicated in 1923 and again in 1973, with a new plaque given by Lt. F. J. McConnell Post No. 229, V.F.W. The agency's monument record titles it the Morris Park World War Memorial; its own McConnell Park history page calls it the Morris Park World War I Memorial.
History
The first plaque is inscribed "DEDICATED / TO THE SONS OF MORRIS PARK AND / VICINITY WHO SERVED IN THE / WORLD WAR -1917-18 AND IN LOVING / REMEMBRANCE OF THE FOLLOWING / MEN WHO MADE THE SUPREME SACRIFICE". The second carries an eagle and the V.F.W. seal above the words "WITH UNDYING LOVE / AND GRATITUDE".
