History

Built in 1871, the Old Schoolhouse Bridge is believed to be the only surviving 19th-century covered bridge with covered walkways on both sides, per Wikipedia's Old Schoolhouse Bridge article. The bridge was listed on the National Register of Historic Places on March 31, 1971 (NRHP reference No. 71000055) and carried vehicle traffic until 1973.
