History
The Mount Washington Hotel opened on July 28, 1902, after construction that began in 1900, designed by architect Charles Alling Gifford, per Wikipedia's "Mount Washington Hotel" article. The hotel was declared a National Historic Landmark in 1986 and hosted the 1944 conference that led to the establishment of the International Monetary Fund and the World Bank in 1945. The hotel now operates as the Omni Mount Washington Resort, following Omni Hotels & Resorts' December 2015 purchase of the property from CNL.
