Pachaug State Forest

Connecticut's largest state forest at 26,477 acres of public land across six towns, with Mount Misery rising to 441 feet. Camping, hiking, biking, boating, fishing, horseback riding, hunting and cross-country skiing. Three campgrounds — Green Falls (18 sites), Mount Misery (22 sites) and Frog Hollow Equestrian (18 sites) — at $17/day resident, $27 non-resident, plus four backcountry lean-to shelters.
