A museum founded in 1972 and housed in the former New York City Building from the 1939 World's Fair, one of five buildings that survive from that fair. Its signature exhibit is the Panorama of the City of New York, a roughly 9,335-square-foot architectural model of all five boroughs, built at 1:1200 scale as they existed in 1992. Stated hours are closed Monday and Tuesday, Wednesday to Friday noon to 5pm and Saturday and Sunday 11am to 5pm, with last ticketed gallery entry at 4:30pm. Suggested pay-what-you-wish admission is $8 for adults and $6 for seniors and students, and children 12 and under are free.
