Opened in September 1934 and named — over her own objection — for Sara Roosevelt, mother of President Franklin D. Roosevelt, the seven-block park includes basketball courts, soccer fields, a playground, and community gardens like the M'finda Kalunga and Hua Mei Bird Gardens.
