South End Historic District

Historic site · SoMa, California

The South End Historic District was designated under Article 10 of the Planning Code, Appendix I, on 23 March 1990 by Ordinance 104-90. Its period of significance runs from 1867 to 1935. It covers warehouse and industrial blocks in the streets around Second Street, Townsend Street and South Park.

History

It is a set of protected street blocks rather than a site with an entrance, and there is nothing to book or pay for. The city's file also records a South End Historic District Addition, which is eligible only and carries no protection.
