The Monument is a climbable column on Fish Street Hill commemorating the Great Fire of London of 1666. The operator describes it as a 202ft column designed by Sir Christopher Wren and Dr Robert Hooke, and there are 311 steps to the viewing platform. Admission is £7.00 for an adult and £3.50 for a child. It opens daily 09:30 to 13:00 and 14:00 to 18:00, with last entry at 12:30 and 17:30.

History

The column is listed Grade I, NHLE 1193901, on 4 January 1950. The National Heritage List holds several unrelated entries also called The Monument; only 1193901 is the Fish Street Hill column.
