A community development corporation at 940 Garrison Ave., whose strapline reads "Developing Leadership in Hunts Point Since 1994." Its posted hours are Monday to Friday, 10:00 am to 6:00 pm, with Saturday and Sunday closed. It runs the Hunts Point Fish Parade & Arts Festival, an annual June event whose 20th anniversary the organisation marked in 2023 under the theme "Rooted Visions."
History
THE POINT CDC's neighborhood history names the Hunts Point Palace among the clubs and dance halls where jazz musicians played, recalls casitas and community gardens and the graffiti "Que Viva Puerto Rico Libre" in the 1970s, and calls the Spofford Juvenile Center "a symbol of pain, abuse, corruption, and neglect."
