Thread City Crossing (the Frog Bridge)
Historic site · Windham, Connecticut
Opened in 2000, Windham's signature roadside landmark: four 11-foot frog sculptures by Leo Jensen sit atop giant thread spools, marrying the 1754 Frog Fight legend to Willimantic's 'Thread City' industry. A public bridge, free and always accessible.
History
The 1857 stone arch bridge it replaced survives nearby as a garden walkway, reopened in 2006 as the Windham Garden on the Bridge pedestrian span.
