Tooting Bec Lido

A condition of its construction was that it be concealed from views across the common behind an earth ramp, which survives, and the changing cubicles are painted in alternating red, yellow and green doors. It is owned by the London Borough of Wandsworth and run by Places Leisure, whose page signs off 'Places Leisure, agent for Wandsworth Council'. The lido carries no entry on the National Heritage List for England. Despite the name, Tooting Bec is not the nearest station: Streatham, on Southern and Thameslink, is 861 m away and Streatham Hill, on Southern, 1,072 m, both in the London Borough of Lambeth, with Tooting Bec Underground 1,496 m and Balham 1,573 m.
