Golf Digest gives the designers as Pete & Alice Dye, Year Opened 1980, 18 holes, 7,275 yards, slope 155. Built in 1980 for the PGA TOUR at 110 Championship Way, it has been the permanent home of THE PLAYERS Championship since the first playing there in 1982, won by Jerry Pate. The operator credits Alice Dye with the concept of the island green at the 17th.
