A public park on the Janiculum slopes. Roma Capitale gives its location as Municipio I, Rione XIII - Trastevere and its extension as 63,500 square metres. it.wikipedia gives the area as seven and a half hectares; the municipal figure is the one used here.
History
Roma Capitale records that Mons. Innocenzo Malvasia acquired the area in 1575 and built the Casino Malvasia; that in 1647 the property was given by Domenico Vaini, 'vita natural durante', to Cardinal Antonio Barberini, who already owned the Casino Malvasia; and that the Casino Barberini and the Casino Malvasia were badly damaged in 1849. Roma Capitale records that in 1930, after her husband's death, Henrietta Wurts gave the villa to Benito Mussolini on condition that it be used as a public park. Roma Capitale names the fontana dei Satiri and the fontana di Diana ed Endimione among the fountains restored in the 2000s, and names the fontana dei Putti and fountains in the north and south sectors in a note on a restoration of 2025.
