A 96-acre park established in 1918 as a motorists' wayside — a forerunner of the modern highway rest area and one of Connecticut's earliest state parks — straddling the Wallingford/North Haven line. A designated Trout Park with swimming, picnicking, a perimeter hiking loop and winter ice skating. Open daily 8 a.m. to sunset, free admission. Phone (203) 287-5658.
