Pictures from Kingston upon Thames — Kingston upon Thames, London: the Coronation Stone, Clattern Bridge, the Tudor conduits and Chessington
The Coronation Stone outside the Guildhall, High Street, Kingston upon Thames
The rough sarsen block sits on a pale stone plinth whose angled faces carry carved royal names and Roman numerals, ringed by low pale-blue ironwork railings between eight tall stone posts with spear finials. A plane tree rises behind it and the Guildhall's brick and glazed frontage, with its blue-framed entrance, fills the background.
