Pictures from Lambeth — Lambeth, London: the South Bank, Lambeth Palace, Brixton Market and West Norwood Cemetery

The Tudor gatehouse of Lambeth Palace, Lambeth Palace Road

The Tudor gatehouse of Lambeth Palace, Lambeth Palace Road

The red-brick gatehouse seen square-on from the forecourt, its two crenellated towers rising five storeys either side of a pointed timber gate and a smaller pedestrian arch, with lanterns flanking the entrance. The stone tower of St Mary-at-Lambeth, now the Garden Museum, stands immediately to the right, and buses and vans pass on the road at the left under a flat white sky.
