Air Line State Park Trail (Portland)

Portland is the southern terminus of this 50-mile rail-trail built on the 1870s Air Line Railroad, which once offered fast passenger service between New York and Boston and gave rise to the legend of the "Ghost Train" of the 1890s. Free for walkers, hikers, cyclists, horseback riders and skaters, with cross-country skiing and snowshoeing in winter.
