History
The Grade II* listing was made on 19 February 1971 and amended on 20 July 2011, under the statutory address 'Arnos Grove Underground Station, Bowes Road'. The designation cites 'architectural interest: a striking design with a prominent circular booking hall providing both an effective landmark and hugely impressive interior space. Its large panels of glazing making it particularly evocative when lit at night'. Bowes Road Library and Arnos Pool, a few metres away, are listed Grade II as a single entry, NHLE 1381394, on 7 August 2000. New Southgate station, served by Great Northern and Thameslink, is about 725 m away.
