Ashbel Woodward Museum

The circa-1835 Greek Revival homestead of Dr. Ashbel Woodward, Franklin's town physician for over 50 years and a Union Civil War battlefield surgeon. His descendants gave the house to the state in 1947; it was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1992 and is maintained by a volunteer team. Open Friday and Saturday afternoons, 11 a.m.-4 p.m., in season. Phone (860) 642-1988.
