Ayers Gap Preserve

An 80-acre Nature Conservancy preserve, purchased in 1988, where Bailey Brook drops through a ravine walled with Scotland Schist cliffs to a cascading waterfall, with hemlocks and a fern species known from only a handful of Connecticut sites. Open dawn to dusk for hiking, birding and cross-country skiing; no bikes, pets or fishing. From Route 2, take Exit 25 to Route 32 north, then Route 207 east about one mile.
