Avenue H Station House
Historic site · Midwood, New York
The northbound station house on the BMT Brighton Line, built in 1906 by the T. B. Ackerson Company as a real estate sales office for the Fiske Terrace development and later converted for subway use. It is described as the only structure in the subway system not originally built as a transit facility.
History
The Landmarks Preservation Commission designated the exterior an individual landmark on June 29, 2004. It still functions as the working station entrance and was renovated between 2009 and 2011.
