Bensonhurst Park

About 17.5 acres on the Brooklyn waterfront, which NYC Parks describes as serving both the Bensonhurst and Bath Beach neighborhoods. It has a central lawn, basketball and handball courts, baseball and softball fields, a children's playground, eight hard-court tennis courts and access to the Shore Parkway Greenway.
History
Advocacy for a park here began in 1891 and the city acquired the first land in 1895, with additions in 1924 and 1944; the 1940s extension used land excavated during construction of the Shore (Belt) Parkway. A $6.5 million renovation announced in 2016 ran from September 2019 to 2021.
