Bradley Point Park
Historic site · West Haven, Connecticut
Marks the spot where British troops landed to invade New Haven on July 5, 1779. The rocky outcropping on its shorefront is the Savin Rock that gave the surrounding neighborhood and the vanished amusement resort their name. Today the park occupies redeveloped former amusement-park land, with picnic areas, a Veterans Walk of Honor and open views across Long Island Sound.
