Calvert Vaux Park

Park · Gravesend, New York

An 85.5-acre waterfront park on Gravesend Bay, formerly Dreier-Offerman Park. NYC open data files it under Community Board 13 and sources associate it with Bath Beach and Bensonhurst as much as with Gravesend, so its neighborhood affiliation is not clean-cut.

History

Renamed in 1998 for the landscape architect Calvert Vaux, who was found dead in Gravesend Bay in 1895.
