Chiesa di Santa Teresa del Bambin Gesu in Panfilo
Historic site · Pinciano, Italy
A church at the junction of via Giovanni Paisiello and via Gaspare Spontini, and the reason it matters to a visitor is underground: the present access to the catacomb of San Panfilo is inside it. No opening hours are published for the church, so none are given here.
History
it.wikipedia gives Guglielmo Palombi as the architect, dates the building between 1929 and 1932 and the consecration to 2 October 1932, and records that the church was a parish church from 6 December 1952, by a decree of Cardinal Clemente Micara, until 30 September 2011. It was built over the catacomb, whose tunnels carry pilgrim graffiti and funerary inscriptions.
