The Church of All Saints is a working parish church on The Chase, Cranham, RM14 3YB, listed Grade II as NHLE 1079925 and rebuilt in 1873. James Oglethorpe, founder of the colony and state of Georgia, is buried with his wife at the centre of the chancel. No source states its opening hours, so none are given here.
History
The Grade II listing was made on 14 September 1979 as list entry 1079925, under the statutory name 'Church of All Saints'. A railed tomb west of the church carries its own Grade II listing, NHLE 1358509. Cranham Hall, the former manor house, stands about 45 m south and is listed Grade II, NHLE 1358508, with its garden walls separately Grade II, NHLE 1183600. Cranham is one of the eleven conservation areas of the London Borough of Havering, designated in 1968, and one of three — with Gidea Park and Havering-atte-Bower — carrying an Article 4 Direction; in Cranham that direction means planning permission is required for gates, walls, fences or other means of enclosure. There is no bus stop within 500 m of the church, and the 248 and the 346 about a mile west on St Mary's Lane and Front Lane are the nearest routes.
