Church of St John the Baptist, Pinner

The Grade II* listing was made on 21 September 1951 as list entry 1286312. The church dates from the fourteenth century, and Pinner began as a mediaeval hamlet. Two churchyard features are separately listed at Grade II: the monument to William and Agnes Loudon on the south side, NHLE 1079745, an obelisk driven through a sarcophagus, and the War Memorial, NHLE 1246345. About 230 m north, in Pinner Cemetery, the grave of Horatia Nelson Ward, daughter of Horatio Nelson and Emma Hamilton, is listed Grade II, NHLE 1079680, entered as "Grave of Horatia Nelson Ward approximately 15 yards to south west of chapel in Pinner Cemetery". Pinner station, on the Metropolitan line, is 250 m away.
