Columbia Green Historic District
Historic site · Columbia, Connecticut
Listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1990, with 43 contributing buildings including the Congregational Church, Town Hall, the c. 1736 Eleazar Wheelock House, the Indian Charity School, the Landmark Inn and a Victorian Revival gazebo. Summer concerts are held on the green.
History
Rochambeau's officers were quartered at the Landmark Inn while planning the 1781 march from Newport to Yorktown.
