Congregation Sherith Israel

A domed synagogue at the north-east corner of California and Webster Streets, by the architect Albert Pissis, who trained at the Ecole des Beaux-Arts. The building stands 140 feet above California Street, the dome is 60 feet in outside diameter, and the interior holds 20,000 square feet, 3,500 organ pipes and seating for 1,385. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places, reference number 10000114, on 31 March 2010.
