Fontana di Campo de' Fiori
Historic site · Parione, Italy
The fountain now in the square is a 19th-century copy of the basin Giacomo della Porta designed for it. The Sovrintendenza Capitolina records that the copy was placed in 1898, during the repaving of the square, on ground that had been occupied by buildings until 1858, on the side toward via dei Cappellari, via del Pellegrino and piazza della Cancelleria. It is fed by the acqua Paola and reproduces Della Porta's basin in size and proportion, without the 17th-century lid.
History
The date is the Sovrintendenza's. it.wikipedia dates the copy to 1924 instead; where Roma Capitale's own page and an aggregator disagree, this guide follows Roma Capitale and says whose date it is using.
