General David Humphreys House

The birthplace of David Humphreys, Revolutionary War aide to George Washington and later U.S. Minister to Spain, who went on to found the first successful woolen mill in the United States. Operated by the Derby Historical Society, which shares the 37 Elm Street site with the Sarah Riggs Humphreys House. Tours by appointment; call (203) 735-1908.
