History
Green Mountain Inn was built in 1833 by Peter C. Lovejoy and was successively known as the Mansfield House and the Brick Hotel before taking its current name in 1893 when purchased by Mark C. Lovejoy, per Wikipedia's "Green Mountain Inn" article. The inn is a contributing property to the Stowe Village Historic District, listed on the National Register of Historic Places on November 15, 1978 (ID 78000236), and has been owned by the Gameroff Trust since Marvin Gameroff's 1982 purchase.
