Hampstead Road Lock (Camden Lock)

Hampstead Road Lock, also called Camden Lock, is a working lock on the Regent's Canal at Chalk Farm Road, freely accessible from the towpath. It is Grade II listed, NHLE 1272427, and was listed on 9 January 1992. No source states opening hours for it, so none are given here.
History
The Regent's Canal was built between 1812 and 1820, and it is why Robert Stephenson sited the Camden Goods Depot here: it gave the railway a freight link to the London docks (NHLE 1113238). The roving bridge over the canal west of the lock is Grade II listed, NHLE 1272428, as is the Hampstead Road bridge over the canal, NHLE 1272426. The Regent's Canal Information Centre beside the lock is Grade II listed, NHLE 1244300. The lock stands in the Regent's Canal Conservation Area, designated by Camden as local planning authority, which carries no list entry number.
