Per Wikipedia, the historic commune "emerged in the towns of Hancock, Pittsfield, and Richmond in the 1780s" and is described as "a former Shaker commune in Hancock and Pittsfield, Massachusetts" -- the historic commune straddled town lines, though the museum's present visitor entrance address places it in Pittsfield.
