General's Retreat

Opened in 1986, designed by Gary Roger Baird, at Hermitage Golf Course in Old Hickory. Hosted the LPGA Sara Lee Classic from 1988 to 1999, a twelve-edition run that belongs to this course specifically rather than to the Hermitage complex — its sister course, President's Reserve, was not built until 2001, two years after the tournament left Hermitage. A direct call to the course's own booking API returned 28 bookable tee times with no authentication and no booking class. For Sunday, September 20, 2026, the booking engine quoted a 12:00 p.m. tee time at $84 green fee plus $16 cart, a total of $100, matching the course's own published Friday-through-Sunday rate. Hermitage Golf Course's own history page describes it as "the best in Tennessee public golf."
