A 141.28-acre NYC Parks property established in 1901 around the Ridgewood Reservoir, with football and baseball fields, tennis courts, seasonal ice skating, the Vito P. Battista Playground and Pietro Montana's "Dawn of Glory" World War I monument.
History
The City of Brooklyn bought the reservoir land in 1891 and the park was established in 1901, first under the name Ridgewood Park. The Brooklyn Department of Parks improved it between 1901 and 1905, and it was enlarged by the purchase of the Schenck estate in 1905 and by land from the Department of Water in 1906. An aquatic garden followed in 1907 and a children's farm garden in 1915.
